LET THE WORLD CHANGE YOU & THEN YOU CAN CHANGE THE WORLD " -- CHE GEUVARA
This is the best biographical movies ever made , a bioepic in its true sense.
Its the story of a young doctor and his friend who halts the scheme of life for a moment and go out to learn about their continent and indigenous people.
----------------------------------------------------------
How ? On a old majestic Norton 500 motorbike "La Pedorosa"
Method ? " Sheer Improvisation "
----------------------------------------------------------
Their route is ambitious. They head north, aim to cross the Andes, travel along the coast of Chile, across the Atacama Desert and into the Peruvian Amazon and reach Venezuela.During their expedition, Ernesto and Alberto ( the two protagonists ) encounter the poverty of the indigenous peasants, and the movie assumes a greater seriousness once the men gain a better sense of the disparity between the "haves" and "have-nots" of Latin America.
Ernesto introspects on his visit to the Incan ruins of Machu Picchu in Peru that inspires something in him. His somber musings are then focused on how a civilization capable of building such beauty could be destroyed by the creators of the polluted urban decay of Lima. His reflections are interrupted by Alberto, who shares with him a dream to peacefully revolutionize modern South America. Ernesto quickly responds: "A revolution without guns? It will never work."
--------------------
This is a triumph and coming of age of a 23 year old doctor whose journey , not only brings him closer to his people but inspires him into a revolution which would lay the foundation of many other revolutions to follow.
The doctor Ernesto goes on to become the iconic Cuban leader "CHE GUEVARA" whose spirit of rebellion against injustice inspires comrades across all parts of world till date.
A very special mention to the OST by OSCAR winner Gustavo Santaolalla.

WHY SPECIAL TO ME
====================
Che Geuvara is a special person. A very special role model. His ideas about bringing change is one of the key constituents of my thought process. This is a story beautifully told about the transformation of a young man Ernesto to the iconic Che Geuvara , who says " If you tremble with indignation at every injustice then you are a comrade of mine"

MUSIC & MOVIES - HOW DO I LIVE WITHOUT YOU ( LEANN RIMES )
Thanks to a dear friend who introduced me to this song.
Once you are introduced to an artist's song you tend to scan their other works and you can be sure that if the introduction was fascinating the rest will definitely be worth a shot.Same was the case with the singer "Leann Rimes ".
But this song is not about the singer , the music or the friend who introduced me to it. ( Although all these aspects are more than enough to love this ballad !! )
---------
I'll just love this song for its lyrics and emotion it tries to convey. You have to listen to comprehend.
---------
Once released it broke all records across all the charts of the world. The song entered the Top 25 Country singles sales chart on June 21, 1997 and was still there in February 2003, a record 291 weeks (five and half years) later :). Such was its everlasting popularity.
It was featured as an OST for ConAir ( starring Nicolas Cage ).
--------
" Without you
There'd be no sun in my sky
There would be no love in my life
There would be no world left for me
And I...."
People who have ever fallen in love and maybe in the coming future will do , this is the one song you would end up singing , listening or identifying.
This is one 4 sure.
============
WHY SPECIAL TO ME
============
It was the fav of a very dear friend and I was forced to listen to it :) , when I did I was floored. Still fresh in my memories , as if it was yesterday.

MUSIC & MOVIES - A TRIBUTE TO A R REHMAN - TOP 10
How would you define pure genius ?
ACCORDING to me the best way is a relative comparison with another genius, becomes an easy comprehension for anyone trying to read and understand their works.
A.R.REHMAN is to Indian Music what SACHIN TENDULKAR is to Indian Cricket.
Its not a banal cliche but there are very good reasons to it :
1) Both brought a freshness and innovation to their genre which was never seen before , it gave the country a new fresh breathe when it needed the most.
2) Both changed the way their profession is perceived by the billion folks in this sceptical and apprehensive country & for good.
3) Even after being at the top they have managed to come up with brilliance in heir works. They epitomise the saying that "I my own competitor." Striving for excellence.
4) Lastly they have build the Indian brand globally. Be it the Oscars for Rehman or severe critics round globe singing plaudits for the Little Master.
==============
The first time I heard him was "Yeh Haseen Vadiya" , that day was a revelation. Its like the first time I got the taste of something so flawless and beautiful.
He's the one music director who literally make a shiver run down your spine with ecstasy.
( Just listen to "Chupke Se" from Satthiya you'll understand what I mean )
He has helped new music directors , singers , musicians to build on a platform he has created for sheer innovation and excellence through his work.
His Tamil / Teleugu music is even more aspiring and fresh as the day he first arrived.
Critics may blame him for his repetition etc...but who cares if brilliance is repeated every now and then.
---------------
Its a sheer privilege to be born in an era where we can listen to AR Rehman and watch Tendya play. We often underestimate this very fact !!.
---------------
WHY SPECIAL TO ME ?
---------------
Simply I owe my interest and passion in music to this man.
Hats off to the Mozart from Chennai.

MUSIC AND MOVIES - H.E.A.T.
First thing's first.
--- Please watch this movie if you are or u think a movie buff ---
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Michael Mann maybe the most GIFTED director of our times who knows how his camera works. He knows about lighting , sublime effects of dark nights and street lights and change in camera angles as the mood of the movie changes subtly.
-------------
There are lot of movies you just go after watching the trailers irrespective of any other thing. In this case I watched an old trailer of HEAT by Mann after watching the movie. Well it made me watch it again !!
The two most electrifying performers on the American screen DE NIRO & AL PACINO together for the first time is enough to take you to the theatres. Isn't it ?
But the winner here are not the actors , neither the gripping plot but the genius director Michael Mann.
Its a school lesson for budding folks who wanna take their chances with direction in future.
1) Art of story telling and connecting the dots.
2) Getting best out of each and every character and just not sailing on De Niro & Pacino's giant presence.
3) Haunting Camera angles & brilliant background score.
4) Flawless Dialogues and Editing which will keep you on your seats and you would never mind the long 3 hours but only ask for more.
-----------
The plot's simple a cop chasing a crew who take scores and work like a close knit family. How he manages to nab them and how the life's of all inloved is getting affected.
-----------
WHY SPECIAL TO ME ?
-----------
Hands down the best Cop - Crook movie I have seen till date. Maybe L.A. Confidential would come close but HEAT is the winner.
Ther's a line in the movie that's nearly became the way I see life :
" All I am is what I am going After ? "
This is one movie to Die for.
Movie - H.E.A.T.
Dir - Michael Mann
Cast - Al Pacino , Robert De Niro , Van Kilmer
